Hi, I’m Jen.
I’m an instructional designer with a PhD in English, a PMP certification, and a deep love for crafting learning that actually sticks. Once upon a time, I spent a decade as a college professor, teaching everything from literary theory to creative writing—and discovering just how powerful storytelling can be in the classroom (and beyond).

From the Classroom to the Clickthrough
Today, I bring that same energy to learning design—building experiences that are clear, engaging, and thoughtfully structured. Whether I’m scripting e-learning modules, mapping learner journeys, or storyboarding an entire course, I believe great design starts by meeting people where they are—and inviting them to go further.
Where I’ve Been Shapes How I Design
Originally from the Mitten State, I’ve called many places home—Japan, Alaska, Seattle, and Austin, among others—and each one has shaped how I think about language, culture, and the many ways people learn. My designs are learner-centered, globally aware, and infused with empathy.

When I’m Not Designing…
You’ll probably find me writing fiction, walking my dogs, catering to the feline overlords, or consuming entirely too much coffee. I’m always chasing the next great story—whether it’s tucked inside a novel, a learning module, or a team brainstorm. As a lifelong reader and writer, I bring that same curiosity and creativity to my work, designing inclusive, equitable learning experiences where everyone feels seen, supported, and maybe even a little inspired.
